Tree Yoga School · Practice beside a tree
Bur Oak · About five minutes
Make room to continue.
Read once, then give your attention to the tree. Spend a few minutes, or less if that suits you.
Find a comfortable place.
Sit or stand on stable ground in a permitted place, keeping your usual supports. A bench, wheelchair, or accessible path is enough. Keep paths clear and let your breathing stay natural. There is no need to touch the tree.
Take a comfortable distance
Choose stable, permitted ground away from damaged limbs and falling acorns. Sit or stand with your usual supports. A broad view from the path is welcome.
Notice a branch and a space
Rest your eyes on one branch, then on an opening beside it. Let both belong to your view without reaching or changing your breathing.
Check your pace
Bring one continuing effort to mind. Notice whether its current pace allows rest, support, and ordinary needs. Describe one adjustment that could help.
Leave room for the next visit
Choose one sustainable action rather than filling every available moment. Take in the wider scene once more, then finish at your own pace.
An optional five minutes
You can practice without a timer. Start it when you are ready to turn your attention to the tree.
5:00
Silent by default. Begin whenever you like.
Keep this page open for the closing sound. A locked screen or backgrounded browser may delay it; the time will catch up when you return.
When you are ready
What room would help you sustain something worthwhile?
Reflect quietly, or write a sentence in your own notebook. Let the visit be enough.
