Tree Yoga School · Practice beside a tree
Post Oak · About five minutes
One modest commitment.
Read once, then give your attention to the tree. Spend a few minutes, or less if that suits you.
Find a comfortable place.
Sit or stand on stable ground in a permitted place, keeping your usual supports. A bench, wheelchair, or accessible path is enough. Keep paths clear and let your breathing stay natural. There is no need to touch the tree.
Arrive without a task list
Choose stable, permitted ground clear of damaged branches. Sit or stand with your usual supports. For this moment, let looking at the tree be the whole task.
Return to one shape
Choose a leaf outline or a bend in a branch. Notice it, allow your eyes to rest, then return. There is no need to count breaths or hold your attention perfectly.
Make an intention smaller
Think of something you want to continue. Reduce it to one repeatable act: a few minutes of practice, one message, or a short walk suited to your circumstances.
Include a resting point
Decide when that small act will be enough and how you will stop or rest. Notice the wider scene again. Leave with a commitment you can revise when your needs change.
An optional five minutes
You can practice without a timer. Start it when you are ready to turn your attention to the tree.
5:00
Silent by default. Begin whenever you like.
Keep this page open for the closing sound. A locked screen or backgrounded browser may delay it; the time will catch up when you return.
When you are ready
What becomes possible when your commitment is small enough to repeat?
Reflect quietly, or write a sentence in your own notebook. Let the visit be enough.
