Tree Yoga School · Practice beside a tree

Tulip Tree · About five minutes

A small detail. A wider view.

Read once, then give your attention to the tree. Spend a few minutes, or less if that suits you.

Find a comfortable place.

Sit or stand on stable ground in a permitted place, keeping your usual supports. A bench, wheelchair, or accessible path is enough. Keep paths clear and let your breathing stay natural. There is no need to touch the tree.

  1. Choose a comfortable view

Sit or stand on permitted, stable ground with your usual supports. Keep your neck comfortable and your gaze at an easy height.

  2. Trace one shape

Follow a visible leaf edge or branch with your eyes. If it is too distant, choose a closer detail. Leave leaves and flowers attached.

  3. Widen the frame

Include the surrounding light and neighboring plants. Let your breath continue naturally. Notice how the detail belongs to a larger scene.

  4. Name one next step

Choose a modest action connected to something you care about. Finish when ready, carrying the intention with you.

An optional five minutes

You can practice without a timer. Start it when you are ready to turn your attention to the tree.

5:00

Silent by default. Begin whenever you like.

Keep this page open for the closing sound. A locked screen or backgrounded browser may delay it; the time will catch up when you return.

When you are ready

What became clearer when you moved between the detail and the wider view?

Reflect quietly, or write a sentence in your own notebook. Let the visit be enough.
