Triangle Pose

It is important to note that the version with the tree is slightly different than the regular version. When practicing regularly, the spine is horizontal. In Tree Yoga, the spine remains vertical.

Begin with either foot very close to the tree, with the toes pointing directly at the trunk. Step back with the other leg. The back heel should be down, with the toes angled out. Keep the legs straight, but do not lock out the knees. Further, keep the spine as long as possible the entire time. If the left foot is forward, twist to the left and place the right hand on the left side of the trunk. If the right foot is forward, twist to the right and place the left hand on the right side of the trunk. Those were a lot of different directions, but this pose is not as complicated as it initially sounds. Use the tree as leverage to gently push yourself more deeply into the pose for a couple of breaths on each side.
