Tree Yoga School · Practice beside a tree

American Hornbeam · About five minutes

Follow the curve. Ease the effort.

Read once, then give your attention to the tree. Spend a few minutes, or less if that suits you.

Find a comfortable place.

Sit or stand on stable ground in a permitted place, keeping your usual supports. A bench, wheelchair, or accessible path is enough. Keep paths clear and let your breathing stay natural. There is no need to touch the tree.

  1. Find your support

Sit or stand comfortably on permitted, stable ground, using your usual supports. Remain on the path near streams. Let the seat or ground carry your weight.

  2. Follow a curve

Choose a line in the bark at an easy height. Trace it slowly with your eyes. A branch outline works too; you can stay at a distance.

  3. Check your effort

Notice your jaw, shoulders, or hands. If comfortable, ease one small area of tension. Keep breathing naturally and return your eyes to the curve.

  4. Recognize one support

Name something that helps you continue: a person, a place, a routine, or a practical tool. Choose one way to appreciate or use that support today.

An optional five minutes

You can practice without a timer. Start it when you are ready to turn your attention to the tree.

5:00

Silent by default. Begin whenever you like.

Keep this page open for the closing sound. A locked screen or backgrounded browser may delay it; the time will catch up when you return.

When you are ready

What became easier when you noticed what was supporting you?

Reflect quietly, or write a sentence in your own notebook. Let the visit be enough.
