Tree Yoga School · Practice beside a tree
Bigtooth Aspen · About five minutes
An edge, a leaf, a woodland.
Read once, then give your attention to the tree. Spend a few minutes, or less if that suits you.
Find a comfortable place.
Sit or stand on stable ground in a permitted place, keeping your usual supports. A bench, wheelchair, or accessible path is enough. Keep paths clear and let your breathing stay natural. There is no need to touch the tree.
Begin at an easy distance
Choose stable ground on a permitted route. Sit or stand with your usual supports and find a visible leaf or naturally fallen example.
Follow the edge
Look at the large teeth along the leaf margin. If leaves are absent, follow a twig or bark pattern instead. Leave living growth attached.
Widen the frame
Include the twig, trunk, neighboring stems, and openings in the canopy. Notice relationships you can see while leaving unseen roots as an open question.
Bring one question forward
Name a detail to revisit or a question to explore. Consider one small connection you would like to care for in your own day.
An optional five minutes
You can practice without a timer. Start it when you are ready to turn your attention to the tree.
5:00
Silent by default. Begin whenever you like.
Keep this page open for the closing sound. A locked screen or backgrounded browser may delay it; the time will catch up when you return.
When you are ready
What did one small distinction help you notice about the whole place?
Reflect quietly, or write a sentence in your own notebook. Let the visit be enough.
