Tree Yoga School · Practice beside a tree

Eastern Redbud · About five minutes

Find the first small sign.

Read once, then give your attention to the tree. Spend a few minutes, or less if that suits you.

Find a comfortable place.

Sit or stand on stable ground in a permitted place, keeping your usual supports. A bench, wheelchair, or accessible path is enough. Keep paths clear and let your breathing stay natural. There is no need to touch the tree.

  1. Arrive in this season

Choose permitted, stable ground and a comfortable seat or stance. Let your breathing remain natural. Notice the season and weather without expecting flowers.

  2. Find a small sign

Choose a bud, leaf edge, pod, branch curve, or changing light. Look closely from where you are; leave flowers and other parts attached.

  3. Give it time

Stay with the detail for a few breaths. Notice one additional feature. If it feels pleasant, allow that; if it does not, simple curiosity is enough.

  4. Welcome a modest beginning

Name something you would like to begin or revisit. Choose a first step small enough for today. Finish by noticing how the detail belongs to the whole tree.

An optional five minutes

You can practice without a timer. Start it when you are ready to turn your attention to the tree.

5:00

Silent by default. Begin whenever you like.

Keep this page open for the closing sound. A locked screen or backgrounded browser may delay it; the time will catch up when you return.

When you are ready

Which small beginning would you like to give a little room?

Reflect quietly, or write a sentence in your own notebook. Let the visit be enough.
