Tree Yoga School · Practice beside a tree

Jack Pine · About five minutes

Room for an unexpected shape.

Read once, then give your attention to the tree. Spend a few minutes, or less if that suits you.

Find a comfortable place.

Sit or stand on stable ground in a permitted place, keeping your usual supports. A bench, wheelchair, or accessible path is enough. Keep paths clear and let your breathing stay natural. There is no need to touch the tree.

  1. Meet this particular tree

Settle on a permitted path or stable viewpoint. Keep a comfortable distance from branches and use your usual seat or supports.

  2. Trace an unexpected turn

Choose a branch angle or gap in the crown. Follow it with your eyes, noticing where the outline differs from a simple triangle.

  3. Loosen one expectation

Notice whether you are judging the shape. Let the thought pass and return to a visible detail. Your breath can stay ordinary.

  4. Choose one adjustment

Think of a plan that could benefit from a small change. Name one adjustment that fits your real circumstances, then return your attention to the place.

An optional five minutes

You can practice without a timer. Start it when you are ready to turn your attention to the tree.

5:00

Silent by default. Begin whenever you like.

Keep this page open for the closing sound. A locked screen or backgrounded browser may delay it; the time will catch up when you return.

When you are ready

Where could you make room for a different shape of progress?

Reflect quietly, or write a sentence in your own notebook. Let the visit be enough.
