Tree Yoga School · Practice beside a tree
Osage Orange · About five minutes
A boundary with room for kindness.
Read once, then give your attention to the tree. Spend a few minutes, or less if that suits you.
Find a comfortable place.
Sit or stand on stable ground in a permitted place, keeping your usual supports. A bench, wheelchair, or accessible path is enough. Keep paths clear and let your breathing stay natural. There is no need to touch the tree.
Find a comfortable distance
Choose stable, permitted ground away from thorns, loose fruit, and damaged branches. Notice the space between you and the tree. Adjust until looking feels comfortable.
Trace an edge
Follow a short section of the crown with your eyes, then pause at one leaf or branch. Let your breath remain natural. Notice where the tree's outline meets the sky.
Name one boundary
Quietly consider one limit you would like to express: a time to rest, a task you can decline, or space to finish something. Choose simple words without rehearsing an argument.
Leave room for kindness
Widen your view to the surrounding place. Imagine stating your boundary calmly, with care for yourself and others. Choose one small next action and finish at your own pace.
An optional five minutes
You can practice without a timer. Start it when you are ready to turn your attention to the tree.
5:00
Silent by default. Begin whenever you like.
Keep this page open for the closing sound. A locked screen or backgrounded browser may delay it; the time will catch up when you return.
When you are ready
What boundary could help you care more sustainably?
Reflect quietly, or write a sentence in your own notebook. Let the visit be enough.
