Tree Yoga School · Practice beside a tree

Pine · About five minutes

One pine. One clear point.

Read once, then give your attention to the tree. Spend a few minutes, or less if that suits you.

Find a comfortable place.

Sit or stand on stable ground in a permitted place, keeping your usual supports. A bench, wheelchair, or accessible path is enough. Keep paths clear and let your breathing stay natural. There is no need to touch the tree.

  1. Arrive beside a pine

Choose a permitted place with stable ground, suitable weather, and no hazardous branches overhead. Sit on a bench, use your usual seat or wheelchair, or stand with your normal supports. You can observe from a distance.

  2. Find one clear point

Choose a detail you can see comfortably: a needle bundle, a patch of bark, or an opening between branches. Keep your eyes open and let your breath continue naturally.

  3. Return gently

Notice thoughts and nearby sounds. Whenever attention wanders, return to your detail. There is no need to make the mind silent or produce a particular feeling.

  4. Carry one intention

After a few minutes, widen your attention to the surroundings. Ask what you would like to return to in your day. Choose one small action, then finish at your own pace.

An optional five minutes

You can practice without a timer. Start it when you are ready to turn your attention to the tree.

5:00

Silent by default. Begin whenever you like.

Keep this page open for the closing sound. A locked screen or backgrounded browser may delay it; the time will catch up when you return.

When you are ready

What stayed familiar, and what surprised you when you looked again?

Reflect quietly, or write a sentence in your own notebook. Let the visit be enough.
