Tree Yoga School · Practice beside a tree
Southern Live Oak · About five minutes
A branch, a canopy, a little room.
Read once, then give your attention to the tree. Spend a few minutes, or less if that suits you.
Find a comfortable place.
Sit or stand on stable ground in a permitted place, keeping your usual supports. A bench, wheelchair, or accessible path is enough. Keep paths clear and let your breathing stay natural. There is no need to touch the tree.
Choose a permitted view
Use a stable path-side viewpoint or bench with your usual supports. Follow barriers and site rules; do not stand on roots, climb limbs, or place belongings against a protected tree.
Follow one branch
Choose a visible branch curve and follow it with your eyes. Let the shape unfold at a comfortable viewing angle, without needing to reach or touch it.
Include the wider crown
Widen your attention to the openings between limbs, changing light, and surrounding life. Let your breathing remain natural.
Consider one form of support
Ask what would make room for rest or growth in your day. Choose one small act of care, then finish by returning your attention to the tree.
An optional five minutes
You can practice without a timer. Start it when you are ready to turn your attention to the tree.
5:00
Silent by default. Begin whenever you like.
Keep this page open for the closing sound. A locked screen or backgrounded browser may delay it; the time will catch up when you return.
When you are ready
What would it mean to offer yourself or someone else a little room?
Reflect quietly, or write a sentence in your own notebook. Let the visit be enough.
