The practice.
Start in a standing position, facing the tree. You should be 1 or 2 feet away from the trunk. Place both hands on the tree to establish a direct connection. Remember, the hands have high concentrations of nerves which allows for great energy flow. Root down through the feet as you lengthen up through the crown. Roll the shoulders back and down away from the ears — opening the front of the body. Breathe deeply in this position. Placing the hands on the tree is one of the absolute best ways to release negative energy and stress. It also connects us with some of the purest positive energy there is.

Make the practice fit you.
This is a reference entry, not a required step in a beginner course. Use a comfortable range, keep breathing naturally, and stop if a movement hurts. Inversions and suspended exercises need appropriate instruction and equipment; a tree is not a certified anchor.
