The register behind the map
Nevada Division of Forestry 2023 register · retrieved October 11, 2026 · program on hiatus
223 records are included in this imported selection. 223 have approximate map points; 0 remain searchable without a marker. Multiple trees can share one town or county point.
Register editions, retrieval dates, and individual measurement dates describe different things. This snapshot does not confirm current tree condition. Approximate map points do not locate individual trees or establish permission to visit.
All 223 tree records from the six-page Nevada Division of Forestry 2023 Big Tree Register, retrieved October 11, 2026: 211 champions and 12 co-champions. Repeated names and every published co-champion label remain separate records without re-ranking by score. The program page mentions 303 trees, but its linked PDF contains 223 rows; no missing trees are invented. The National Champion Tree Program lists Nevada’s program as on hiatus. This dated snapshot does not confirm current tree condition, status, or national titles.
All records use seven approximate Census county points. The printed county “Pine” is interpreted as White Pine, the only Nevada county ending in that name, with the original label and interpretation explained on each affected card. These markers do not locate individual trees or establish visiting permission. The Ownership column, personal names, street addresses, and exact tree positions are omitted; public ownership is not treated as visiting access.
Common and botanical labels remain as printed, including fragments and spelling errors. Many botanical names lack a genus or contain only a cultivar or variety. Those 128 incomplete labels remain searchable by name, but are omitted from species and genus filters to avoid grouping unrelated trees under a shared fragment. No full identity is inferred from the PDF’s botanical hyperlinks. Circumference is in inches; height and full average crown spread are in feet. Published rounded crown points and total scores are preserved. Measurement dates are not supplied.
