How this register was selected and mapped

Wisconsin DNR’s official Champion Tree map and data table, retrieved October 9, 2026. All 47 records in the exact-location layer and all 10 township-display records are included using the official map filters. Repeated species remain separate; no additional champions are derived from points.

All 57 records use 21 approximate Census county points. These markers do not locate individual trees. DNR shares exact locations for some trees, including trees on private property; location sharing does not establish visiting permission. The 28 private-property records are labelled private; the other 29 have unclassified visiting access. Consult the official map for its published location information.

Circumference is in inches; height and crown width are in feet. Average crown width follows the official map’s average of its two verified crown diameters; both diameters remain in record notes. Published scores are retained. Measurement dates are not supplied. The exact-location layer reports data last edited September 7, 2026; the township layer February 9, 2023. DNR currently reports a staffing-related pause and cannot respond to nominations or program information requests.
