How this register was selected and mapped

Alabama Forestry Commission’s 2025 Champion Tree List, retrieved October 8, 2026. All 145 tree rows across 134 scientific-name categories are retained, including multiple listed trees of the same species. Names, measurements, and published scores are preserved without recalculating rankings. PDF line breaks are joined; source spelling is retained.

The year crowned and remeasurement deadline are shown separately. Neither supplies a measurement date, and historical deadlines are retained as published. This dated edition does not confirm current tree condition or status.

All records map to 49 approximate county points from the Census Bureau’s 2025 Gazetteer. These markers do not locate individual trees. Ownership does not establish visiting permission; access remains unclassified. The program withholds private-land locations and directs public-land location requests to its coordinator.
